Getting Started
Choose a Base Folder Style
When you first open the app, you'll see a selection of folder styles to choose from. Choose the one that matches your operating system.
This tool currently supports macOS and Windows 11 folder icons
Customize Your Folder Colors
After selecting a base style, you can customize the colors of your folder.
Use the color hue selector to pick a base color for your folder
Try the "random" button for inspiration if you're not sure what colors to use
Add an Icon or Image
Make your folder instantly recognizable by adding a meaningful icon.
Choose from our library of common icons or search for specific ones
Alternatively, paste (CMD + V or CTRL + V) your own image directly into the canvas
You can also drag and drop an image file from your computer onto the folder canvas in the app
Position and resize your icon by dragging and using the size slider
Adding Text Labels
You can add text labels to your folder for extra clarity.
Simply enter the text you want to add in the side menu
You can customize the size and the alignment of the text from the settings
Position the text by dragging it on the canvas
Exporting Your Icons
Saving and Using Your Folder Icons
Once you're happy with your design, you can export and use your custom folder icon.
Click the "Download Folder Icon" button in the bottom right corner or in the settings menu on the left
Your custom folder icon will be downloaded as a PNG image file
How to apply your custom icon
On macOS:
Right-click the folder you want to customize and select "Get Info"
Drag your exported icon file onto the small icon in the top-left corner of the info window
If the folder already has a custom icon, you may need to select the small icon in the top-left corner and press the Delete key to remove it before you can drag the new icon there
On Windows:
Right-click the folder and select "Properties"
Go to the "Customize" tab and click "Change Icon"
Browse to your downloaded .ico file and select it
Click "OK" and "Apply"
